From here until the end of the semester, I’m going to be randomly (maybe 3x’s a week) posting some exercises. No, not ones for physical health, but writing. I am supposed to be doing a daily-ish journal in my Fiction Writing class that revolves around Fiction. Well, the first half of class, I just used my blog. Not very fiction-ey. The professor said it was okay this time, but for the rest of the semester, I should try to do more exercises.
So, once I get my notebook back (possibly Friday), I will be posting these exercises in a “Read More” section. I will not force people to read them, but I would love to get some feedback on them. the more I practice, the better my writing gets. the better my writing gets, the better chance I have of getting published one day. If I get published, I will be super happy. I’ll probably be doing these Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Just be on the lookout, I will be doing them in the title of the post (after the “-OR-” that I’ve come to love). That not only helps me know what days I do them on, but it helps you find them, read them and help me!
Thanks everyone, ~Jared~
PS : Yes, I kind of hope to make some more subscribers through this too. PPS : No, I will not stop posting about my life or my weight/exercise. Just to let you know.
So I’m not dead, although it has seemed like that. I figured I needed a good break from this after my last program and all the work I have had to do over the last week. Quite a lot has happened while I’ve not posted, so here goes:
I’m working on that last short story to make it an actual book. It’s quite a lot harder than I thought, but nothing I can’t do. I just really REALLY need to keep my attention on it.
I’ve been looking for writing jobs in the Syracuse area and it’s been really upsetting. There really isn’t all that much that I can find. I would love to try teaching, but I’ve heard the teaching market in New York really blows right now.
I had quite a bit of homework over the las week. That wasn’t fun. A lot of it was Midterm studying too.
This previous weekend was Grad Weekend at our Fraternity. I was bombarded with people I used to live with and people they used to live with. I normally don’t enjoy it all that much, but I think because I’m almost in their shoes, I feel much better about it. Also, a couple of them got together to make it so when grads are over, they don’t just destroy shit. That’s a plus.
I purchased the 3DS on Sunday. It’s amazing. I love it so much. I’m just confused by how no one has another one on this campus (except my close friends). I mean, this is RPI. Nerds should have it.
I’ve been doing short workout circuits. They are made by a guy who calls himself “Trainer David.” He’s highly energetic and he really gets me into the workouts. They are a lot tougher than the EA Sports Active 2 workouts. I did an ab one over the weekend and I was still sore by Monday. (Check out David here)
Finally, I have played my first sport since Bowling in High School! I am on the Ultimate team for my Fraternity. I may not be all too good at catching and tossing, but I’m apparently good at not being in the way. I also assisted on the last touchdown. I’m going to be practicing a lot this semester in addition to my Couch to 5K (when it gets warmer again - next week?). I forgot to stretch enough afterward, my hamstrings are slightly sore still. I have not actually run that much since I did my 5K at the end of last semester. Oi.
Well, those would be all the updates I can think of for now. If anything else comes up, I’ll post about it.
Cardio 11: This workout was all upper body. There were a lot of exercises that focused on the shoulders. It happened to be fairly tiring, however, I plan on finishing this program today so that I can start running over the weekend. I don’t feel like being bothered by EA Sports Active 2 for a while.
Cardio 12: This workout was all lower body. I can to cut out a lot of the better exercises because of knees issues that have been cropping up from the weather. At least between the two workouts, I get one full workout. And this is tiring, but not too bad.
And I’m done! That’s the end of my Cardio Program! Changes? Not really. I think I have a little better cardio. I also believe that even though I seem to have put on weight, none of it has been fat. It looks to me like I’ve still been thinning, but my weight has gone up. It’s probably muscle. Stupid muscle. At least when I start up C25K again, I will be losing weight. From what I recall, I might be able to begin on week 4 for C25K. Go Me!
I’m feeling fairly well for everything else in my life. I found out the other day that on the 14th of April I will be on campus from 12-9PM. It kind of sucks, but that’s the day the McKinney Contest is being done. It’s required for me to go to an author’s panel at 4-6 then the contest reading at 8. I really REALLY hope I get something in the contest, even an honorable mention. I also hope I get a chance to grab some food.
Nothing else is going on other than homework for now. This weekend is our Grad Weekend at the fraternity. I usually am not a fan of the grads being here, because quite a few of them are disrespectful. I hope to not be like them in a couple months (I won’t). I will try my hardest to be somewhere else for the weekend. I don’t know where though, plans will be made today probably.
So, I decided to pick up the workouts I missed today so I can end on Friday morning. The first workout was an all out workout and was fairly tiring. I think the problem is that I have not done anything since Saturday. After this week - C25K is starting again, it’s supposed to be really really nice. The second workout was just the same as the other.
Today is going to be boring. I have some work to do in my Proposal Writing class and then I think I’m watching Sabrina. I also need to read some short stories (which can wait until later of course).
Sorry for the random question, but I saw a post from you on C25K about starting the program again, but this time doing it on the road. I am in week 9 of the program, but I have been doing all my runs in the gym (on a treadmill). Was going to attempt to venture outside this weekend to the trail...was curious what I should expect running outside vs. inside?
First : Thanks for the follow!
Second : When I did C25K I did most of it in Vibrams. They really helped me with my calf strength and my posture, but when it came from leaving the treadmill and going outside, it became vastly different.
The biggest problem here is that I am going from a nice smooth surface with a little bit of bounce to a rocky surface that won’t give. Yes, I can run in the grass, but in the residential area of Troy, it’s still hard to find long strips of grass to run on. The rocks aren’t too much to worry about, but the surface tires out my feet much more quickly than it would in normal shoes.
I have a problem here because I go from a nice climate controlled area in a gym to a wild beast of mother nature. It’s tough to run the same way outside when you’re getting beat on by the sun or frozen by the rain. I also find it tough to run and have water readily on me, so I have to go like a camel which makes it a lot harder.
On the treadmill you have a nice flat surface to run on so you can run at an even pace for the full time. Outside, you have to deal with hills and traffic and people that all either slow you down or mess you up. Going out from my residence, I can go up a hill or up a hill. I get very tired from lugging my body up the hill that I need to rest a little before I can continue. It’s really hard for me to progress because of that.
Those are my personal problems with changing to outside. To be honest, I don’t have to redo C25K, but it was a really nice program that helped me to lose 40 pounds the first time I did it. I don’t see a reason not to do it again (and hopefully lose 35 more).
Hi. I read your story. It's great, especially the ending. I really like how you've written his thoughts. There are just a couple things that I would point out.
"I run from the shower with a towel about my waist, I am dripping wet." I think it sounds better without the "I am."
"My eyes flash to the clock on my wall. The hands seem to have a menacing aura about them as they point to the two. My mind goes into a haze…"
I think maybe add some more details at this point. I guess I don't really get the menacing feeling. It just feels like something is missing.
"The only hospital is immediately south from my town."
Maybe just write "south of town." It's a given that it is his town.
"Now as I experience it first person, I begin to gag."
I think it sounds/flows better without the first part. Just leave "I begin to gag."
I do like your story. These are just a few things that I thought of while I was reading it. Hopefully some of it helps you.
The wording changes are noted. I probably would have edited them out myself if I did another revision. The piece was due today at 4PM for the contest, so I didn’t get an extra day to mull it over.
With the clock, Im not too sure how I was thinking of changing it. I knew I wanted some sort of foreshadowing, and it might have fit better in the first draft. I think I can add a little more detail to give it a more menacing feeling, something like : “The black hands of the clock barely stood out on the dark face of the clock, menacing, like a stalker.” Then again, it might have gotten more attention in a later draft (also, it will get more attention in another draft).
Under the “Read More” section of this post is the third submission I made to the McKinney Contest. It’s a short story fiction which I plan on expanding at a later date (within the next week for another project for class).
I would love to get some creative criticism for this. It was a quick write for me, so I may have made some mistakes that I normally wouldn’t, but I would like for anyone to comment. If you have a lot to comment on, send me a question and I’ll answer as promptly as possible.
VERY brief summary : This is a short story about a man who gets a second chance to do something right in his life.
...Really Really Really Really Really Really Hate Troy...Really
This morning I woke up at 8:30, thinking to myself that I’d get my workout in. As I jumped from my bed, my knees began to whimper. I said to myself: “Self, this better not mean what I think it means.” I opened the window and was awestruck by the blanket of white. Immediately, I climbed back into bed until 10. There is no way I am going to work out today.
What I’m trying to say is that the weather blows today, it’s hurting my knees, and I’d rather not work out with these shitty knees. I’m sure it’s going to be better tomorrow, I need to finish this cardio program.
When I did wake up, I found that my 2PM class was cancelled for today. I can only hope that my 6PM is as well, although I doubt it’s going to. I really really hope that my noon class isn’t cancelled because I won’t know until I get there.
Good news on my short story, it’s almost to the point I like (for this purpose). I’m going to get one more revision in during my 2-6 break today. Tomorrow it will be turned in (before 4 [silly deadline]), and hopefully I will be happy enough with it to post it (I think I will be). Right now I have some holes in the plot, but I’m sure those will get filled in later.
I love when I wake up in a fantastic mood, right before my alarm. I am deciding to let this week of workouts be normal (M,T,R,F) to finish off the program. It’s looking like the weather might heat up after this week, so I think I will begin the Couch to 5K again immediately after. I think I can start in around week 4. To be honest, I have no problem with my legs anymore, it’s my breathing. I didn’t do it outside the last time, and now it seems to be harder for me.
Another addition to my good mood: I got to finish up all the Naruto filler last night, and I got to see the first four episodes of Shippuden. By the way, the animation and pacing of it is so refreshing. After watching all that filler, I needed something new.
Oh yeah! I can’t forget tat today is the first day of Spring. Hooray! Even though it’s like 40 out, I’m going to be wearing flip-flops all day (even though I did this on St. Patrick’s Day and I normally wear my Vibrams - it’s the thought that counts!) I hope this means that the weather is done being shitty; I would love to see green grass and leaves on my trees.
Things that suck today :
I have to revise my story once around 2 (when I get showered and dressed) and then once again later tonight
My butt hurts (that workout yesterday really targeted my glutes, today they are sore fr the first time ever)
The workout today was the first annoyance since the middle of the last program. The workout consisted completely of leg exercises. Apparently, I forgot to stretch my groin the other day when I went out for a run, so it’s sore right now. That really made today miserable.
Today is technically the last day of Spring Break for me since tomorrow I have all my Fraternity-related meetings. I’m probably going to lose today because I need to some homework that’s due on Monday. Luckily, it’s beautiful again outside. I may try to read out on the porch if the wind doesn’t pick up too much. It shouldn’t take me longer than a couple hours to do, then I may go in and revise my story draft for the contest on Tuesday. I hope I do well on one of my 3 works. As a side note, I will post up the story when I finish it and send it in, to get some responses. I do plan on expanding it, so any amount of brainstorming you do, I would be glad to hear (although I do have some ideas for it).
In addition to the work I have to do, I also have to finish Naruto’s filler today. Last night we watched approximately 20 episodes. We only have 18 left, I’m so excited. After, we get to watch Shippuden (what’s dubbed of it anyway), YuYuHakusho (possibly, I’ve already seen all of it, one friend has not), or Sabrina the Teenage Witch. You heard me. Sabrina.
While out one friend wasn’t here to watch Naruto over the break, we got into watching Sabrina. We made it through one season in about 2 days. 6 more to go! It’s honestly just so much fun to watch because the actors are trying soooo hard (also the writing is so stale and predictable).
I hope I can get the work done quickly for my one class (3 short stories and a page reflection), so I can move onto my story. The revisions could take me more than a day, so I might want to get to it today so I can look at it again tomorrow.
Before I forget, this might be my last Spring Break. Boo. I enjoyed having a week off and not being home. I think it would be nice to have more of these but with a job (I still need a job v.v).
I’m counting today as the last day of Spring Break since I’ll be doing homework most of tomorrow. Because of that, I will be taking today off from working out. I really really just want to lounge around and watch Naruto with my friends.
I woke up today realizing it was going to be about 60 today. Hooray for shorts day #2. Yesterday was filled with drinking because I have not really done that in a very VERY long time. I/my friends drank from about noon to 5, having a carbomb per hour and then I believe I had five more Guinness on top of that.
It only gave me a minor hangover at about midnight, which I got over pretty quickly. I’m feeling a little under the weather this morning, but it’s beautiful out and I’m awesome, so I don’t think there should be a problem.
Well, today’s workout got a little more challenging. There was a lot of floor stuff then a lot of standing stuff. It could have been worse, but it has gotten me in the mood for a jog. The weather is nice enough that I’m going to go (immediately after writing this) take a jog down to pick up some money. I need to have at least $20 on me for various beers today.
The agenda for today :
Use money to get beer
Drink beer while watching Boondock Saints
Drink beer while watching Boondock Saints 2
Continue drinking beer until I don’t feel like it anymore
Nah, I’m not getting shit-faced today, just some drinks with the few Brothers who are here during Spring Break.
Margaret has left me this morning to go home. I’m a little sad. We did have an amazing (part of the) week. Tuesday we decided to get out while it was nice, so we took a little hop over to Bennington, Vermont to take a walking tour of the Historical side. It was very nice. I was surprised when we found Robert Frost’s grave, I didn’t realize it was so close.
Average/High HR : 106/146
Pictures are in the “Read More,” I’m only putting up the ones I liked :
Yesterday I downloaded a new browser, Rockmelt. It’s basically Chrome but it integrates your social media and RSS feeds right into it. It’s a very mice looking browser and is great for those of us who use Facebook, Twitter, Gmail…
The only things it could use are a feed for Tumblr, and an Adblocker. I miss being able to watch Youtube without ads, but I’ll deal because this browser just feels nicer.
Today’s workout was pretty easy, there really isn’t anything I can divulge without saying the same old stuff. The only thing that did strike me was my ability to do the split squats. I believe the problem before was the cold weather. As soon as it warms up (today is 50) my knees can usually take more of a beating. Also, today was my 50th scheduled workout. Hooray me!
So I said yesterday that I was going to be writing; I lied. Lately my battery has been going to shit and turning off around 30%. I decided I should do my battery run yesterday to see if I could get any more life out of it. [A battery run is charging to 100%, running until dead, charging to 100% while off, leaving it plugged in two extra hours, then running the battery again. This usually forces the battery manager to function properly] I do believe I have more life in it now, which is good. However, because I had to run the battery yesterday, I watched Youtube and played Okamiden.
The battery is almost 2 years old and has 550 cycles on it. It still gets about 3 to 4 hours, but I’m used to so much more. I don’t want to be forced to get a new battery until I’m out of school.
Today is beautiful. It’s 36 currently and my widget says it should be getting up to 50. The fiancee and I have planned to do something (after I finish writing my draft) that involves going out. I suggested Vermont since it’s only 45 minutes away. Now all we have to do is figure out what to do in Chester or Bennington (the two closest places, also the name of on of my favorite vocalists).
I should get cracking on my work so we can do something today. Pictures will follow if we do anything really nice.
...Really Hate Daylight Savings (Cardio 5) -OR- ...Have Print Dreams
Update - No weight change, however, when it goes down I’ll post it up.
Honestly, I love having more light when it’s nearing 8PM, but the late sunrise right now really fucks with me. I’m sure once I get used to it I’ll be getting up at 8 again, but for at least this week (thank goodness it’s Spring Break) I’ll be getting up far too late.
Of course, it’s not all the world’s fault, I do have to blame some of this on Margaret. For some reason, I just never wanna get up when I’m sleeping with her. It could be because I sleep in against the wall and I don’t want to have to exert myself to get out of bed, but it could be because some of her love of sleep permeates into me (Although, I do believe it’s the first one). It could however be from tossing and turning. The bed we sleep in at school is a full size which is far too small for two adults. I tend to toss and turn a lot because I cannot get completely comfortable, this probably leads to me wanting to sleep more. Of course, I’d rather be sleeping with my fiancee and be sleepless than sleep alone any day (Although, I’d love to have a Queen size here, I have one at home and it’s fantastic for the two of us).
What was I going to talk about? Oh right, the workout thing.
So, today was fantastic. It was just over 20 minutes of really good cardio. I was surprised when I got through half of it and was breathing heavily. I didn’t expect it because of last week, but to be honest, I’m pleased. I hope the intensity stays up for the rest of this week and next week. It could help me in my weight loss for the time being (or at least until it’s nice enough to go running outside). It might be kinda nice out, and could go for a run right now, but the snow on the grass really bothers me. I kind of want it to be nice enough so I can run on the grass with my Vibrams and not be all muddy afterward (although, I’m not opposed to this). The problem is that there’s more snow than grass right now and Vibrams are notorious for not being able to handle at ALL on snow or ice.
Today, I will be finishing the draft of my 3rd piece that I’ll be submitting to the McKinney Contest. It’s a work of short fiction involving time travel and a sequence of events of a neurotic male who just lost his parents. When I get the final draft done (later this week, when I liet the piece rest for a few days), I’ll post it here. Of course, it will be posted after I submit it, but that’s that.
In my Proposing & Persuading class we have an Unsolicited Proposal due at the end of the month. I plan on doing a book proposal using the piece I’m working on for the McKinney Contest. One day, I might even finish it and try to get it published. When I do post the short version, I want some creative feedback : What I can do from there, What needs to be fixed to make it stronger, etc… I do have an idea of how to lengthen the piece and to be honest, the way it ends in the short version will not be the same way it finishes in the full version. When I do the writing for the 31st submission, I will need a couple chapters, so I might have about 50 pages written for it. I will not be submitting that much here, WAY too much. The full work will stay with me until/if I can get it published.
Not only is it my least favorite day of the week, but it’s also Daylight Savings today. Usually I hate Sundays because there’s never anything to watch on TV during the day (I do not like sports), places close super early, and it just doesn’t feel right. Today I hate Sunday because of all those things, the fact that I woke up at 10 to realize it was actually 11, and how I want to leave and do something but nothing is going to be open for much longer.
Seriously Sundays, GTFO.
Also, it’s really odd being in one of three fraternity houses that is usually filled with about 40 guys to now be just three or four other people. Spring Break is weird. I don’t think I’d be able to deal with this is my fiancee wasn’t here for most of the week (with other people to come and relieve her near the end of it).
Today and yesterday were great workouts. I would love the program more if they were smashed together: A great upper body workout and a great lower body workout. Nothing else is new on this front other than my knees aren’t bothering me as much (it’s been warmer) and it’s going to be 40 all week long with rain. I figure, by the middle of next week or the week after, I might be able to go for a jog!
Yesterday didn’t feel as long as I thought it would. All three of my classes ended after an hour and it was only a problem with my first two (since I have them directly after each other). Hell, I’m fairly certain I destroyed that Midterm I had in my Grant Writing class. What was I worrying about?
Today I have a single class (because I met on Tuesday for the other one), and it’s only going to be as long as a presentation. It feels like a waste to go to campus for that (I live just off campus in a fraternity house), but I love getting in the extra walking every day.
After class I’m probably going to do my bedding and laundry in preparation for the fiancee coming over. She’ll be here from Saturday morning until Wednesday I believe. I’m just glad our Spring Breaks coincided this year. This will also be my first time staying at school instead of going home for break; I think I can do it.
The rest of the day? Probably Pokemon and some Naruto before my friends leave (we only watch together). I believe we’ve watched nearly to over 30 episodes during this week so far. We started at the filler (episode 135 or something) and are now around 170. I believe we’re only a third of the way through the filler. To be honest, it’s not all that bad. I like the change of pace and the ability to see all the other characters being developed (Except TenTen, FUCK TenTen). We’re trying to get through the filler so we can watch all that is dubbed of Shippuden before I graduate (They would be graduating with me, but they’re doing a masters in 5 year program).
Today’s workout was brought to me by the letter: Upperbody. Worst thing bout it? Two sets of Triceps Kickbacks and three sets of Pushups from knees (I have no strength in either of those muscle groups). But I did both of them to their completion, so I guess I have that to be happy about.
All I really have to say is that all these workouts are lame, I’m not getting nearly a good enough heart rate increase for a good day’s workout. Once it becomes not shitty out, I plan on jogging, but until then, I don’t see my weight decreasing. Maybe next week will be good enough so I can go out and run.
Today is going to be a bitch. Monday/Thursday are my longest days and today is especially long because of work. Everything for three of my classes is due today: a Python program, two papers, a midterm. I have the first two on that list done, but the problem is that I still have to go to class and talk about them/show them off. I hate talking about my work unless I’m proud of it. To be honest, I’m not usually proud of homework because it’s not something I want to do.
About the midterm. The class I have it in is at 6, and it shouldn’t be too difficult. The problem is that I haven’t taken an actual test in three semesters and I’m not good with tests! I always fake myself out with multiple choice, so I lose a lot of points. This midterm is 36 multiple choice and 6 short answer. I hope I do well, and I hope it ends early. Because, the sooner it ends, the closer I am to spring break (Only one class is meeting on Friday for me, and it’s going to be only about an hour long).
Thanks for the follow-back! Chaucerandcupcakes recommended you to me, after we were discussing weight-loss and video games.
Glad to see I'm not the only one here who loves the awesome of Pokemon and Katamari :)
You’re welcome! I finally got the chance to take a look through your posts earlier today and decided it would be beneficial to follow you back.
I need to hold off on the Pokemon, however, I played about 12 hours today (as I don’t have class Wednesday and my work is done all the way til next week) and I got a really bad headache. I think the refresh rate on my DS is a little low, and the flashing is getting to me.
Anywho - 3 days to get through the story to where I have the 8 badges. Not bad time for me.
Hey. Thanks for the advice. I've actually been interested in looking into barefoot running. I've been seeing more people post about it. Is there any beginning/introduction sites or books that you would recommend (or some sort of starting place)? I did a quick Google search and that brought up a whole mess of things. I wouldn't mind restarting C25K if it would ultimately be beneficial. Thanks again!
Well, I just bought myself a pair of Vibram Five Fingers shoes, and went with it. I pretty much just looked up “Barefoot running” and “forefoot strike” on Google to figure out what I really should do/what would be best. I just adapted my running style to how it should feel and it worked!
Also, the Vibram site has a good FAQ HERE showing you how to do some things. (Also the Biomechanics part is a good read).
I know I’m biased talking about Vibrams (since I own 2 pair), but they really are good for getting into barefoot running. They help with your foot and calf strength and you don’t have to worry about rocks and other various things in the road.
...Feel Fine (Cardio 2) -OR- ...Fall Asleep at the Worst Times
The workout program isn’t interesting yet. Still really REALLY easy. I can’t wait to get out and do a two mile jog, then work back up to the 3.1 I was doing after my C25K. I’m feeling good about everything in this department.
So last night I got my new pair of Vibrams (photos when it’s nice out) and they are so much nicer than the Sprints I have. I should have gotten KSO from the beginning. Not only is my whole foot covered, but it’s nice and tight around. There’s also no need to pull tabs in the back of the heel because it’s one strap. The only issue I have is that it’s so difficult to get my toes in, I’m used to it being easy from my Sprints. Practice makes perfect.
I’m impressed with my ability to do at least two homeworks during a day, watch eight episodes of Naruto, and get two gym battles in Pokemon. Sadly, I have more homework, but at least it’s all due on Thursday, and I have tonight after waiting to do it. I love to be on waiting, but I really dislike the fact that it’s three hours out of my night every Tuesday. It’s so annoying.
Around 1AM Margaret and I were texting and I was watching some youtube. I then decided it would be a good idea to go put the TV on, lay in bed, and take off my glasses. I ended up snoozing for about an hour and scaring Margaret. I’m really really bad at this. I need to stop making myself comfortable to sleep before I’m ready.
Well, I should have guess by the name “Cardio Kick Start” that it was just that, a kick start. I did my first workout on the hard program for it, and it was maybe twenty minutes of the same stuff I was doing before, but with less reps. I can only assume that as I continue, there will be more workouts that swap out quicker. However, right now it’s only like 150 calories for each workout, so I will not be posting the calorie loss (I don’t think it matters). For this workout I’ll be posting just my heart rates, to see if there’s a visible difference from the beginning to the end.
I figure I’ll stick with this program until I can get outside and run. Maybe when I can get out to run I’ll use this game predominantly for help with weight lifting.
The fuck Mother Nature? Are you entering menopause or something? One week it’s like 50, you then drop to single digits, then you get back high enough to rain straight for a day and a half, then you dump snow on the ground while everyone is asleep. I bet there’s even worse ice out there now because of the rain yesterday. It’s going to be REAL fun walking to classes.
I’m getting my new Vibrams tonight, and now I can’t use them because my feet will freeze (Pics of them when I do get them). Stupid weather. Stupid Troy.
Still hating you, ~Jared~
Average/High HR : 108/146 (Told you this stuff is easy)
PS : I have also added a page above that showcases my goals for this project. It’s under the page “Weightloss Goals”
I got Pokemon Black today. I’m so pleased with it so far.
Okamiden is coming out this week, I might have pre-purchased it (I totally did)
I just wrote for about 30-60 minutes and managed to pump out about 1,000 words for a draft for a short story. I like the idea enough to make it a full novel possibly in the near future. (I did about a draft of one chapter, but it will be quite longer in the final version).
Tomorrow I begin the 3 week program on EA Sports Active 2 called the Cardio Kick Start. I’m going to try it out on hard to see how I do. If I’m shitty, it’s going back to medium until I can get out and run.
I just randomly looked on the Vibram website and I saw that the Orange/Black KSOs were back in stock.
BUT! Only one pair was in stock! (OH NOOOOOO) - It was size 44.
I became very sad, but then I remembered that they are a different size than the Sprints I own. After looking up the 45’s in Sprint, I found that the 44 in KSO was the same size! There was one pair in 44, I ordered it and crossed my fingers.
In two days I will have the KSO’s, and I will be very very happy.
Today I wish to share two pictures I took yesterday that made my B-day amazing. The first is from a bathroom I went to during class. It’s honestly one of the best/funniest drawings I’ve seen in a stall :
Then during the middle of the day, also in the bathroom, I found one of my Brothers standing at the urinal. I slowly went up behind him and rubbed his hair, luckily he didn’t react negatively. For some reason, his mind worked out that if someone was rubbing his hair at a urinal, it would be someone else in the Brotherhood. Immediately after, another one of our Brothers walked in and tried to do the same thing.
Of course, I finished the night at BeirGarten for my Birthday Boot. My reasoning is : I might as well say I have done it and then never touch that volume again. (Last year, I did the same thing but at Bombers for the half gallon Margarita). Anyway, I finished it in about and hour and a half or an hour fifty minutes. Had I not been talking for a good half an hour in the calf area of the boot, I would have been done sooner. I also had a problem with the taste. It was a good beer, but after the first half liter, it got unbearable. Then I had to drink the rest. Two liters of beer on top of a stomach of Chipotle is really, really difficult when you’ve been “dieting” for a long time. Anywho, I forgot to get a picture of the boot before I began, but this was after the first two drinks out of it:
So now I’m done with alcohol until StPatty’s day (because right now I still taste the beer. At least I’m not hung over.
EDIT : Pictures have stopped working, I’ll load them back up later.
So today I bring the aptly named : Bulleted List of AWESOME
I finished EA Sports Active 2’s 9 Week Program on Medium
I finished strong
I have had the quickest allergy turn around (with just over a day) - I can breathe now
I found out that today I get to order my cap, gown, and hood
I found out that my sit resting heart rate is only around 50, while standing seems to be around 70 (Luckily, since I have been training my heart, having 50 isn’t really a bad thing. If my heart rate was that low to begin with [it used to be 80] then I would be in trouble)
My PSN level finally went up to 8! /streamers
Anywho, that’s it for today and yesterday. Due to my being sickly yesterday, I mostly sat around and played PSN games (flower, Auditoruim HD, Noby Noby Boy). I shall be posting tomorrow with my final look at changes in my body over the 9 long weeks.
...Am Almost There (Workout 35) -OR- ...Hate the Weather
So today I unlocked the 10,000 Calorie Gold Trophy on my PS3 (I find the trophies for specific goals are always a day late, they click if I START over the number)!
I’m almost there, almost reached my goal. I have almost finished the program. Why is this exciting? Mostly because it will be the second weight-loss/toning program I have done to completion (the only other being Couch to 5K). I’m excited to put another tough program under my belt. However, I’m not excited for what is to come next.
Next, I need to get some cardio going. If I can get outside and run, or down to the gym, I will feel so much better. Recently, I’ve been tapping into the fat storages around my waist. they have been getting loose and soft which should mean that a good week or two of cardio could melt it right off. I just really need the weather to cooperate with me so I can get slim.
About the weather - fuck it. It has been really bitchy lately. We had a good few days of over 40, then a week of single digits. Yesterday it rained and was 40, and now I’ve got my weather change allergies. The worst part is, even if I get rid of this cold now, it may be back when the weather dips down and back up again.
Fuck the weather. Fuck my allergies. And Fuck you Troy.
